Australia’s Extreme Weather: Winter Edition

If you’re living in the south east of Australia, you better rug up! Wind, rain and even snow has started heading your way and experts reckon it’s going to be the coldest weather we’ve had so far this year.

Parts of Australia will soon be hit with a cold snap – that’s a fancy way of saying it’s going to get chilly. It could be the coldest weather we’ve had so far this year!

Cold fronts are the edge of a big mass of cold air and they bring cold temperatures and a lot of wind, plus snow! Aussie resorts could get up to a metre of fresh snow by the weekend!

So if you live in this area, what should you do? Well State Emergency Services say trampolines, outdoor furniture and pets are at particular risk of high winds, so make sure they’re being locked down properly.

Better yet, just bring your pets inside. Officials say the worst should be over by the end of the weekend. So hold on tight and stay warm.
